To illustrate this fact just a few years after WWII, membership of the Association stood at a massive 5,000. Such were the numbers wanting to attend Reunions that the Royal Horticultural Hall in Vincent Square was used and even the Odeon Cinema in Leicester Square. Davies Street is the home of The Rifles in London and without the use of the Drill Hall there we would not be able to function. At this special time in our history we should give thanks to His Grace The Duke of Westminster and his forbears for the continued use of the facilities there. Your Association is still strong today, but now numbers only one branch, the London and Essex.
However we also count amongst our Regimental family Queen Victoria's Rifles Regimental Association, Queen's Westminster & Civil Service Rifles Retired Members Association, The Rangers Old Comrades and last but by no means least the King's Royal Rifle Corps Cadets. KRRC Association Headquarters, London, including the members of the Celer et Audax (Officers) Club today have a combined membership of 1,526, not bad for a Regiment that technically ceased to exist over forty-five years ago.
The continued success of the Association is really all about you and your fellow Riflemen caring about your friends and remembering your time in The Regiment, whenever and wherever you served. That great rapport between the men and officers unique to Riflemen still exists today in the living Regiment, The Rifles, and is evidence of our splendid lineage.
